CAPTR Streamlines Violence Reduction Service in Prisons for Catch22

THE CHALLENGE

Catch22 was awarded a contract by The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) in close partnership with the London Prisons Group to deliver a pilot Prison Violence Reduction services within Wandsworth, Pentonville, and Feltham B prisons. This service targets the root causes of violence through four specific sub-services: Purposeful Activity, Peer Mentoring, Mediation and Conflict Resolution, Exploitation, Gangs and Debt Service.

The project supports rehabilitation and enhances prison safety by screening prisoners, tailoring interventions to their needs, and offering ongoing support. To manage these services effectively, Catch22 needed a case management system that streamlines secure data collection and reporting. The system needed to integrate with existing platforms allowing easy data export for commissioner reporting, Power BI dashboards, and evaluation reports.

THE SOLUTION

We partnered with Catch22 to provide a web-based, case management solution, CAPTR. It supports:

1. A professional view that provides case managers with evidence of work completed with individuals through case notes,          documents, and onward referrals

2. A caseload overview that provides case managers with an overview of their casework

3. Action planning that allows case managers to track progress and set SMART goals and actions for each user

4. A participant profile to capture personalised information about the individual engaging with the service, such as release date, remand status, borough of release, and level of risk in prison

5. The ability to move participants across prisons

6. Role creation, management

7. Group interventions management and delivery

8. Bulk upload of participants onto the application

9. Asset builder to build custom assessments

10. Creating custom reports for different stakeholders

CAPTR streamlines pre- and post-evaluation of training and evaluation of complex case management.

“Meganexus’s CAPTR Case Management System has transformed how we manage cases and support service users. It is intuitive, secure, and configurable. It streamlines processes, reduces duplication, and provides real-time visibility. The reporting tools help evidence outcomes and improve decisions, while freeing staff to focus on delivering meaningful support.”

Megan Prendergast, Senior Operations Manager, Catch22

THE IMPACT AND RESULTS

From implementation in August 2024, Catch22 has supported over hundreds of users through CAPTR. The staff conducts comprehensive screening using customised forms and records referral sources (self/prison staff) to deliver personalised plans for each individual. It is now easier to manage 1:1 case work as well as group interventions, reducing case complexity. Thus, CAPTR saves time and resources required for case management.
